The Democratic Party condemns terrorist attacks

12 September 2001

The Democratic Party of Hong Kong is appalled at the terrorist attacks on the US
yesterday.

Martin Lee, the Chairman of the Democratic Party, said: "The crashing of
hijacked civilian planes into the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon during the
rush hours of the morning was calculated to kill the largest number of innocent
people. This is to be condemned by peace-loving people in every part of the
world."

Mr. Lee has also written to President Bush and offered his condolences to those
who have lost their dear ones in this tragedy. The letter is to be sent through
Mr. Klosson, the US Consul-General in Hong Kong.
